Celebrate Seniors Month with Yin Yoga

Celebrate Seniors Month with Yin Yoga cover

October is Seniors Month, and at Windy Hill we’re proud to celebrate the strength and wellness of our senior community with special offerings that support both body and mind.

As part of the month’s activities, we invite you to experience the deeply calming and restorative benefits of Yin Yoga, led by our instructor Andrea Crisp. Andrea is a qualified yoga teacher who has been teaching at Windy Hill for over 12 years. She describes the centre as “a source of connection,” and says the sense of community here is truly special.

Why teach Yin Yoga?
Andrea shares that the most rewarding part of teaching Yin is “witnessing how deeply my participants love and connect with the practice.” She adds, “I often leave the room feeling calm and grounded too – almost as if I’ve absorbed the serene energy we’ve cultivated together.”

What to expect in a class
Each Yin class begins with a theme or intention, which helps guide participants not just through the poses, but into a deeper connection with themselves and their daily lives.
Andrea weaves sound healing into each session to further support relaxation and reflection.

Benefits of Yin Yoga include:

  • Improved mobility and circulation
  • Gentle stretching of fascia, ligaments and joints
  • Reduced stress and anxiety
  • Increased mindfulness
  • Release of stored tension and blockages in the body

Thank you to all our members for supporting these wellness sessions, and to Andrea for her continued commitment to creating a calm and welcoming space for all.
