HEALTH UPDATE

TUESDAY 27TH JULY 2021

Dear Members and Guests,

The time is almost here and we’re counting down the hours!

Windy Hill Fitness Centre will resume operations from 5am tomorrow (Wednesday) 28 July 2021 as per normal operating hours.

We are incredibly thankful for the community response to the lockdown over the past week that has allowed us to get to this place. Our team are excited to welcome back our valued members and families.

For the next two weeks, there are restrictions in place with a maximum of 100 people allowed in each indoor space. This will be enforced by our staff members who are not included in the total count.

Lap swimming and some aquatic programs may be unavailable at certain times, due to the restrictions imposed. We recommend you check our lane availability online before visiting the centre to avoid disappointment.

Memberships
During the closure, we automatically put all members on hold free of charge, with memberships being credited for the closure upon reopening. As membership access will recommence as of Wednesday 28 July 2021, you will have a reduced direct debit on Friday 30 July 2021.

Fitness Passport
Given the significant caps on the numbers of patrons permitted within venues under the current restrictions, Fitness Passport has advised us that they will wait until the further lifting of restrictions before switching their memberships back on. Payments remain on hold until then.

If you have a Fitness Passport membership and wish to resume training, you can pay the casual rate, or alternatively, we are happy to waive the joining fee on our Active membership if you’d like to join us directly. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Learn To Swim
All learn to swim classes will automatically reactivate and resume as normal tomorrow. Credits have been applied to all students who have missed lessons during the lockdown.

Other important changes

  • All members and guests over the age of 13 will be required to wear a mask while in the Centre.
  • Masks are not required when participating in strenuous exercise or swimming.
  • Capacities for our classes have been reviewed and adjusted to comply with 4 square meter requirements.
  • All members and guests are required to follow the direction of our staff.
  • Social distancing and hygiene measures must be adhered to when visiting the Cantre.
  • Check in on the Service Victoria app is required upon entry or visit to the centre. The QR code can be found on the entry doors and reception. There is also a manual registration system available at reception if you don’t have your phone.
  • Remember to always use a towel and wipe down equipment before and after use.
  • We ask you to stay home if you have any COVID-19-like symptoms and follow the Victorian Government health advice.

We’ll be sure to keep our members and community in the loop of any updates, so make sure you’re following us on Facebook.

Thank you for your patience and support during this lockdown. We cannot wait to have you back at Windy Hill Fitness Centre and supporting your local leisure centre in the future.

The team at Windy Hill

TUESDAY 20TH JULY 2021

As per today’s Government announcement, we will remain closed for another week due to the Victorian lockdown being extended, reopening on Wednesday, 28 July.

We can’t wait to invite you back into the centre, but we know these restrictions are in place to keep our community safe.

Just a reminder to everyone that all applicable memberships and swimming lessons have already been put on suspension and will remain on hold without charge until such time as we can reopen.

Partial payments debited on Friday were calculated based on a 5-day closure. Given this is now to be extended, those payments have been held in credit for you and will reduce your next payment after reopening. No action is required by you, and all lesson enrolments made before the lockdown remain secure.

As always we are closely monitoring this situation and will provide further updates as required.

In the meantime, should you have any questions relating to the closure, please email us at windyhill@bluefit.com.au

Stay safe, and we look forward to seeing you soon!

THURSDAY 15TH JULY 2021

In line with the directions issued by the State Government, we will be closed from Friday 16th July and re-opening Wednesday, 21st July 2021.

During the closure, we will be unable to operate our learn to swim program. For those customers with lessons scheduled on these days, we’ve placed a credit on your account so you only be charged tomorrow for the following week. No action is required on your behalf. Your lesson, day and time in the program will remain secure for the reopening of the facility on Wednesday, 21st July 2021.

All memberships have automatically been suspended for the 5-day lockdown period and a credit will be placed on your account for these days if required. Once again, no further action is required. Your normal fortnightly payment will therefore be reduced for tomorrows debit. Once again, no further action is required.

During the closure, you can still enjoy your favourite group fitness class and access plenty of fun activities for the kids to do via our online platform BFit@home. Click here to access our virtual health & fitness site.

We appreciate this is an emerging situation and will provide further updates if required. In the meantime, should you have any specific questions relating to the closure, please email us at windyhill@bluefit.com.au.

Stay safe.

THURSDAY 17TH JUNE 2021

As a valued Customer of Windy Hill Fitness Centre, we wanted to provide you with an update following yesterday’s announcement.

The good news is that we will be reopening tomorrow, however, current restrictions imposed by the Victorian State Government mean we will not immediately be able to recommence all facilities and services.

While we are very excited to welcome our community back to the centre, it will be a different experience than normal for everyone during this transition time. As a result, we will not restart membership payments tomorrow. If restrictions ease as planned your next debit will be on the 2nd of July.

Services Available From Tomorrow:
In order to meet the 50 person capacity limit inside the centre we will only be offering health and fitness services. The following programs and services will be available:

  • Group fitness classes (10 people per space, with two spaces per studio.)
  • Health club workouts (up to 50 people – Including any group fitness participants on-site at that time)

Bookings via the BlueFit Health Club mobile app are essential.

Please note: There may be changes to the regular group fitness timetable over this time and we may not be able to accommodate some existing class bookings. The Spin classes will be moved temporarily to the Functional Training (Previously Coaching Zone) room.

Services Not Yet Available
Due to these limits, access to the aquatic facilities will not be available during this stage of easing restrictions. The following programs and services will not be available:

  • Aquatic access (including spa, steam)
  • Learn to swim lessons
  • Hirers and bookings
  • Lap and recreational swimming

How To Book Your Visit
Members must book classes and health club visits via the BlueFit Health Club app. If you have any trouble accessing the app please visit here.

Members Only Access
For now, only members will be permitted entry. We look forward to welcoming guests and Fitness Passport members as restrictions ease further.

Other Restrictions
While inside the facility you will be required to wear a mask at all times unless you are participating in strenuous exercise. You will also be required to scan in for each visit using the Victorian Government QR code.

We understand this is difficult for everyone, particularly users of our aquatic facilities, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back into the centre as soon as possible. It is expected that this transition period will remain in place until Friday 25 June, however, as you can understand, the situation can change at any point in time.

We are closely monitoring the situation and will email our customers as soon as anything changes. Please keep an eye on this website and our social media pages for updates along the way.

Finally, we wish you and your family all the best as we transition out of lockdown and we thank you for your patience.

We look forward to seeing you again!

Frequently Asked Questions

It’s great to see so many members returning to the Windy Hill Fitness Centre. As expected, we are receiving a number of questions about the return of facilities and services previously available. Below are those most common for your info:

We’re slowly moving back to normal and are announcing that from tomorrow, Saturday 28th November the facility will open at 7.00am on the weekends. This will allow our pool users to get a swim in before swim school starts at 8.00am. From Monday 4th January we will open at 5.00am on weekdays.

With government restrictions easing, there is now no need to book for the gym or pool sessions. Members are required to scan in each time they attend and casual users required to use the QR code for entry. Gym and Pool staff are logging headcounts every 15 minutes to monitor capacity. There are no longer timed sessions so stay as long as you need. Please continue to follow our COVID safe rules of towel use and social distancing. The only service you now need to book for is group fitness.

Unfortunately, the app is not accessible on the computer or ipad. We hope that an ipad friendly version will be available in the coming months. Members can always book their sessions in person at reception up to 7 days in advance, so if you’re not tech-savvy, we are here to help.

We have added 7 more classes to next week’s timetable including aqua, cycle, and pump. As boot camps finish up, our new FX30 classes will also be added in the old Coaching Zone area. These classes will be included in your membership without the requirement to upgrade.

We have requested clarification from the government on the maximum 20 per group, and will temporarily split the main group fitness room next week to allow for 2 x 20 members per session, as we remain under the 1:4sqm rule and overall health club capacity. Please keep to your side of the room when this change takes place. We have successfully and safely rolled this practice out in other states and now have the same approval here.

Current restrictions allow these facilities to open however the space requirement and building works required will see this area open in 2021.

Under the most recent changes to restrictions, lockers are now permitted. We will arrange repairs in the coming month to restart this service.

We have started the application process to establish the creche license under the new management company. We expect to reopen this service by February.

Trainers will be available for program reviews from the 4th of January 2021. Programs will be loaded into your Mywellness account and accessible via the BlueFit App. For those wanting printed copies of their program, this is still possible however we will not keep printed programs on the gym floor.

Swimming lessons resumed today. Click here to complete your online registration.

No, with the facility no under new management you will need to re-enrol in lessons. It’s a simple online process. Click here to find out more.

If you have enrolled in swimming lessons please click here to go to our parent portal and update your debit details. Details need to be submitted before the 2nd December.

Yes, we will debit you on a fortnightly cycle, however all fees have been matched from your current membership.

We appreciate not everyone is ready to return so have many members still on free suspension. As restrictions ease and services return, we will continue to communicate on this suspension or return process. If you’re ready to start again now, reactivate below
