Why it’s important to keep moving through the colder months!
When it’s cold and dark outside, the temptation to skip your workout can be strong but the truth is, your summer fitness goals are made in winter.
Starting early gives you more time to build strength, improve endurance, and establish consistent habits. So why wait until the weather warms up? Put in the work now and be ready to hit the beach with confidence as soon as summer arrives!
Here’s why winter training is worth it:
- Consistency is the key to long-term health. Maintaining just 80% of your fitness year-round is a great benchmark to stay on track.
- Stopping during winter makes it harder to start again. Momentum matters. Keep your routine going so it’s second nature by summer.
- Training in winter boosts your immunity. Regular exercise can help your body fight off those seasonal bugs.
- It builds resilience. Turning up when it’s cold, rainy, or dark builds mental toughness and lasting habits.
We know winter workouts can feel tougher but sticking with it brings amazing results. Try to keep your summer routine going, even if you need to switch up your training. If the early morning run isn't appealing, swap it out for a treadmill session, group class, or strength training indoors. A little adjustment goes a long way!
What we love seeing in our winter warriors:
- The members who show up consistently in the colder months tend to achieve better results by summer thanks to their year-round training.
- Many experience stronger mental health from staying active and socially connected especially through group classes like spin!
- They build resilience and positive habits that last a lifetime.
