This program offers a nationally recognised qualification and practical workplace training, all while ensuring your well-being through a dedicated student welfare program.
Program Structure
The traineeship is divided into three key components:
1. Study: Receive fully funded training as you work toward the following qualifications:
- Primary Qualification: Certificate III SIS30122 in Sport, Aquatics, and Recreation
- Secondary Qualifications: Pool Lifeguard: SISSS00133
- Swimming and Water Safety Teacher: SISSS00132
- Provide First Aid: HLTAID011
- Provide CPR: HLTAID009
2. Work: You will gain hands-on experience working an average of 8 hours per week over a 12-month period in the following roles:
- Lifeguard
- Swim Teacher
- Customer Service
- Café Assistant
3. School: A School Based Traineeship contributes towards your VCE, therefore positive engagement at school is essential. As a School Based Trainee, you will be assigned curriculum release time to complete your study or attend the workplace.
Requirements
To be eligible for the program, applicants should:
- Be motivated to help others
- Commit to working an average of 8 hours per week
- Have an interest in sports and swimming
- Be able to swim a minimum of 100 meters
