We Made The News!

A few weeks ago, we were fortunate enough to see a range of media platforms and reporters at our very own site. SBS, The Herald Sun and Channel 9 News were all spotted by our pool, reporting on our incredible Splash Time program. For those unfamiliar with Splash Time, it is one of our programs that focuses on introducing parents and babies (under 4 months old) to the water in a safe and fun environment.

The program explores essential water safety skills and knowledge.

Team Changes:

In addition to all of the chaos around our latest media attention, we have also had a few changes to the local team.

Our team is sad to see Kardy (Swim School Manager) and Gim (Operations Manager) both moving onto bigger and better things. Both have played a vital role in the day to day operations of the Windy Hill Fitness Centre and will be dearly missed.

As they say – when one door closes, another opens. With the sad departure of our Kardy and Gim, has left the opportunity to introduce some new faces to the Windy Hill community.

Seb – Operations Manager:

Seb is our new Operations Manager here at Windy Hill. In late January, he transferred across from one of our other facilities, Melton Waves. Prior to his transition, he was also working as an Operations Manager, learning the operational demands of running a pool and gym facility. His abundance of knowledge in pool operations will prove to be an incredible addition to the team.

Prior to working as an operations manager, he was working as a lifeguard and duty manager. Overall he has over 6 years of experience in the aquatics and recreation industry. This includes experience at both Melton Waves and BayFit Leisure Centre.

When he is not at work, Seb is studying his paramedicine degree.

When asked what his favourite part of the job was, Seb said “am I allowed to say the plant room?”.

We think that clearly summarises Seb and his passion for his job.

“The staff, members and the local community have been incredibly supportive and generous as they’ve welcomed me. I look forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”
