MEMBER SPOTLIGHT: Franca at Windy Hill, Beating the Winter Blues cover

For many new gym members, a trial week is a great way to get to know the gym and some of the classes and training activities you can participate in. Windy Hill member Franca learnt this when she completed a trial week, Joining in on classes of Zumba and Pilates, as well as trying out some strength training.

Since Franca joined the Windy Hill gym, she has started doing a mix of cardio, Zumba, Pilates and strength training, and has made lots of new friends to socialise with in and outside of the gym.

Franca’s fitness and training goals:

Since starting at Windy Hill, Franca has set fitness goals of gaining strength and stamina which she is working towards through her fitness classes as well as arm and leg strengthening sessions. What she loves so much about the gym is the community and knowing she is welcomed and a part of a team.

“I love knowing i’m part of something. It gives me so much joy, especially cause I no longer work”

Franca’s advice for getting into it and staying motivated:

  • Try different classes – Try different options for classes and book for a personal trainer to see what training and schedule works best for you.
  • Fight the winter blues – Keep going to the gym during winter to fight of the winter blues and stay on top of your physical and mental health.

Franca is a testament to how trying new things can benefit both your mind and body as well as widening your social group and circle of friends.
